Photo essay: Here are some highlights from the University of Cape Town's launch of the Nelson Mandela Memorial Centre and the School of Public Governance Architectural Design Competition.
This event marked a significant milestone in the reimagining of a "living memorial" for Madiba. The University of Cape Town colleagues, stakeholders, learners, associates and guests gathered to celebrate the launch, which kicked off a continent-wide call for innovative design ideas aimed at creating a space dedicated to leadership, reflection and public engagement.
The proposed centre seeks to honour Nelson Mandela's legacy not through a traditional monument, but by promoting ethical leadership and dialogue for future generations.
