More than 75 years ago, Amílcar Cabral, leading 20th-century African thinker, challenged the idea that soil could be separated from the people who depend on it. As an agronomist, liberation theorist and revolutionary leader, he understood that land, ecology and justice are deeply connected.

Join us for the launch of “To Defend the Earth Is to Defend the Human”, a new publication exploring Cabral's remarkable contribution to what we might now call soil social science.

Together, we will discuss how his work continues to shape conversations on environmental education, land sovereignty and the role of knowledge in building more just futures.
