Just published: Betrayal of the Promise: How SA is Being Stolen

The State Capacity Research Group launched a major, new study on the country's emerging Shadow State, "Betrayal of the Promise: How South Africa is Being Stolen", on 25th May 2017.

The State Capacity Research Group comprises the Public Affairs Research Institute (PARI) at the University of the Witwatersrand, the Centre for Complex Systems in Transition (CST) at Stellenbosch University, the Development Policy Research Unit (DPRU) and the SARChI Chair in African Diplomacy and Foreign Policy at the University of Johannesburg.

The report was presented by Mark Swilling (CST), Ivor Chipkin (PARI) and Mzukisi Qobo (UJ), with Adam Habib as a discussant.
