Scrutinising the factors that drive inequality across Africa so that better decisions can be made to deal with them – this is the aim of AIR, a multi-country research and policy initiative.

The Faculty of Commerce stole the show at the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) September graduation with the biggest cohort. In addition, the faculty had one of the largest PhD numbers in a single ceremony – at a cool 33.

Across eight ceremonies, UCT conferred 125 undergraduate diplomas and certificates, 693 bachelor’s degrees, 189 honours degrees, 202 postgraduate diplomas and certificates, 955 master’s degrees and 155 doctoral degrees.
