Professor Suki Goodman was appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce from 1 January 2022. She served as head of the School of Management Studies department from 2018 until she was appointed Dean. Before that, she headed the section of Organisational Psychology from 2010 to 2017.

She is acclaimed in her research areas, including organisational behaviour and programme evaluation. She has published numerous peer‐reviewed research articles and book chapters and has served on a number of editorial teams for South African journals in her field. Professor Goodman belongs to the Future of Work research programme under the South African Research Chair: Creation of Decent Work and Sustainable Livelihood.

Professor Goodman is a registered Organisational Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and a member of both the Society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology (SIOPSA) and the South African Society for Monitoring and Evaluation (SAMEA).

She teaches across both organisational psychology and programme evaluation and has taught courses at the bookends (first year and master’s) for many years. She supervises both masters and doctoral candidates.

In 2017, she received the SIOPSA Presidential Merit Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of her dedication to institutional Transformation in industrial and organisational psychology. In 2019, under her headship, the School of Management Studies’ Section of Marketing won the Vice Chancellor’s first-ever excellence award for Transformation.

Professor Goodman holds a PhD, master’s and honours degrees in organisational psychology from the University of Cape Town.
