SA-TIED & Econ3X3 Economic Policy Debate

Prof. Haroon Bhorat (Director of the DPRU) participated as a panellist at the Southern Africa – Towards Inclusive Economic Development (SA-TIED) and Econ 3X3 economic policy debate on 26 June 2023, held at the University of Pretoria’s Future Africa Campus auditorium.

The panel session was titled: “Rethinking traditional approaches to tackle unemployment in South Africa: Exploring feasible, well-designed grant-based approaches for the unemployed to complement active labour-market policies”.

As the first instalment of the Econ 3X3 and SA-TIED policy debate series, this initiative aimed to promote increased engagement between policymakers and researchers while providing a forum for discussing critical policy matters that impact South Africa.
