Tackling systemic issues of poverty and unemployment in Africa

Prof. Haroon Bhorat, DPRU Director, presented “Tackling systemic issues of poverty and unemployment in Africa”, at the inaugural Africa Impact Summit, a hybrid event held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on the 14th July 2023. Prof. Bhorat discussed economic growth and the search for jobs in Africa. 

Hosted by the African Impact Investing community, the event provided unique on-the ground insights from national and regional perspectives whilst drawing on the diverse global impact investing community excited about the opportunities Africa presents. The Summit was convened to provide a platform to make connections, discover opportunities and share insights to drive a new form of investment that works for Africa.
