David de Villiers
Expertise: Macroeconomics, International Finance, Development Economics, and Applied Econometrics.
David is a Junior Research Fellow at the DPRU, where his research focuses on analysing the impact of economic policy, and communicating data insights through effective data visualisation and communication. He is a PhD graduandus in Economics at Stellenbosch University, where his research explores the design and implementation of effective capital flow management policies to promote financial stability and economic growth in emerging markets. He holds a Master's and Honours degree in Economics cum laude from Nelson Mandela University. As an economist with mathematical roots, he leverages his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and Honours degree in Applied Mathematics, to tackle economic problems with precision and accuracy. Previously, he worked as a lecturer of Quantitative Thinking and Techniques.
