The BCom Honours is offered in conjunction with the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) courses. The Honours programme includes a research component designed to supplement and enrich accounting knowledge. The broad aim of the degree is to introduce students to academic research in accounting.
This programme is offered on a full-time basis.

Students who do not perform adequately by the end of the July examinations will be required to change their registration to the extended PGDA programme and deregister from ACC4050W, Specialised Topics in Accounting and Research Report.
As this qualification includes the PGDA courses, completing the BCom Honours allows candidates to write the Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).
