The Student Development Services is aimed at helping all students in the Faculty of Commerce make a success of their studies by offering student development programmes and student support.

Student Development Programmes include:

  • Life Skills Workshops
  • Mentoring Programmes 
  • Leadership Development

These services are offered in the Faculty of Commerce through the Commerce Case Study DOC1003H/DOC1103H.

DOC1103H: Commerce Case Study
This course for first year students supports the transition into UCT and the Faculty of Commerce. It is available to any first-year student registered in the Faculty of Commerce and compulsory for all EDU students.

DOC1103H for EDU students is presented in two part as follows:
Semester 1: Self-development: Personal Management in the Higher Education Context 
Semester 2: Career Discovery
