Prof João Carlos Ferraz

Prof João Carlos Ferraz is an Adjunct Professor at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance, University of Cape Town. Prof Ferraz is a full professor at the Instituto de Economia, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (IE/UFRJ), Brazil.  His teaching, research, publications as well as his policy practice advice is focused on subjects related to industrial organisation, economics of innovation and development finance.

He is formerly a member of the Executive Board of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), the Executive of the Brazilian Development Bank, a Director of the Division of Production, Productivity and Management, Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, United Nations (ECLAC/UN), Chile, 2003-2007.
