Agisanang Magooa
Agisanang Magooa is Programme Coordinator in the Research Programme focusing on Regional Integration and AfCFTA as well as Climate and Economic Development.
Prior to working at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance, she was an Innovation Manager at the DG Murray Trust in the Youth Portfolio focusing on skills development and work-link barriers in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. She obtained her Undergraduate Degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics, as well as her Honours Degree in Economics, at the University of Witwatersrand. Her Honours research paper examined policies for export-led growth as a development strategy for South Africa. She is currently pursuing a professional Master's Degree in Development Policy and Practice through the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance.
Agisanang is an emerging development economist with 6 years’ experience in research, policy analysis, strategic planning, grants management as well as project management in the civil society, education, and youth development sectors. She has since considered trade and industrial policy as her primary avenue for her personal development.
Research Interests: Africa’s regional integration, AfCFTA implementation, green industrialisation, development finance in Africa as well as women and youth in trade.
