CALP is led by Professor Yonas Alem (University of Cape Town) and brings together a diverse international network of senior and early‑career researchers.

The team reflects diversity in gender, career stage, disciplinary background, and regional and ethnic perspectives, with leadership anchored in the Global South. Senior researchers work closely with early‑career scholars through structured mentorship and collaborative research models, supporting inclusive leadership and long‑term capacity development.
