Professor Cheryl Hendricks

Professor Cheryl Hendricks is the director of the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town. She is an internationally recognised expert and thought leader in peace and security in Africa, with a particular emphasis on Women, Peace and Security.

With over thirty years of experience, Prof Hendricks specialises in governance and democratisation, conflict analysis, conflict prevention and resolution, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, regional peace and security architectures, human rights, transitional justice, reconciliation and preventing violent extremism.
