Dr Gainmore Zanamwe
Dr Gainmore Zanamwe, is a Senior Manager under the Intra-African Trade Initiative at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) responsible for Trade Facilitation. Dr Zanamwe has more than 16 years of experience on trade and industrialisation matters. He is currently working on a number of trade facilitation initiatives to promote intra-African trade and industrialisation including supporting the AfCFTA.
He has worked as the Regional Trade Adviser under the Commonwealth Secretariat (Hub and Spokes) and was posted to the SADC Secretariat, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), where he provided support on industrialisation, private sector development, export promotion, investment promotion, trade facilitation, trade negotiations, trade policy advocacy, development of trade and industrialisation policy frameworks, training and capacity building, regional and global value chains and trade standards. While at SADC, Dr Zanamwe provided support on developing the SADC Industrialisation Strategy, which prioritised agro-processing, mineral beneficiation, pharmaceutical sector as well as development of regional value chains in the automotive sector amongst other sectors.
Dr Zanamwe holds an L.L.B (Distinction) from the Nelson Mandela School of Law, University of Fort Hare and a Joint L.L.M in International Trade and Investment from the University of Western Cape and University of Amsterdam and a PhD in International Trade Law which focused on regional economic integration including the AfCFTA and industrial development.
