Kelvin Mupeta Chabala
Kelvin Chabala is the Nelson Mandela School’s Finance and Operations Manager. He has worked for more than twenty three years in senior finance, human resources, operations, contract management, donor compliance and strategic management roles in central and southern Africa. He has worked in the non-profit making sector as well as private sectors, including at AWARD (Association for Water and Rural Development), Royal Sechaba Foods, Shechem Investments Ltd, Stanbic Bank and Population Council (inc. USA). At Population Council he headed the finance, human resources, grants and contracts and administration functions in the South African Office. He has a National Higher Diploma in Accountancy from the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants and he is a finalist of the ACCA (Association of Chartered & Certified Accountants) qualification. He is also currently studying for his MBA in financial management with the London School of Business & Finance and has extensive experience working with international donors and international development with a clear understanding and experience in terms of donor rules and regulations especially USAID, CDC, DFID, IDRC, FORD, Gates Foundation and NIH funding. He also has obtained over 20 short course certifications in management, professional ethics, coaching, human resources and job grading systems, accounting, compliance, labour law, taxation, cost and budgeting principles according to the OMB guidelines, USAID, NIH and US Government rules, and regulations for funded USAID projects.
