The University of Cape Town (UCT) and its strategic partners invite you to the launch of the Architectural Design Competition (ADC). We are proud to share that the competition is endorsed by the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA), conducted in accordance with its Architectural Competition Guidelines and is being held in partnership with the African Union of Architects (AUA).

This much-anticipated launch of the Architectural Design Competition marks an important milestone in the development of the proposed Nelson Mandela Memorial Centre and School of Public Governance. The building project was conceived as a living memorial, one that honours the legacy of Nelson Mandela by strengthening ethical, transformative and inclusive leadership in service of Africa’s development.

The launch event formally initiates the architectural design competition, which will shape a space that embodies the values, spirit and enduring leadership of Nelson Mandela.

⇥ Venue: P18 and New Lecture Theatre (NLT) UCT Upper Campus
Dress code: Guests are kindly encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, as the venue is located on UCT Upper Campus and will involve some walking.
