African Perspectives on the post-2015 Development Agenda

The workshop, African Perspectives on the post-2015 Development Agenda, took place on 13 September 2013 in Cape Town.
African experts, leaders in academia and prominent members of the continent’s research and policy communities met in Cape Town, South Africa, to discuss the High-Level Panel’s Report.
The aim of the conversation was to obtain insights from the research community in Africa, and help to delineate the key contours of the post-2015 agenda. Intended to complement the consultation processes and outreach activities held by the Secretariat of the Panel since May, the event was designed to systematically deal with proposals in the HLP report from an African point of view, so as to inform further discussion of these issues in the UN environment as well as in expert and researcher circles.
Thematic sessions covered during the workshop included:
1. End Poverty and Ensure Food Security
2: Human Development (Education, Health, Gender)
3: Sustainable Energy, Natural Resource Management and Climate Change
4: Jobs, Livelihood and Growth
5: Finance and Institutions (Financial Issues & Governance)
