GSDPP Professor Carlos Lopes has been selected to be part of a select, high-level panel for the Global Commission on the Future of Work, hosted by the International Labour Organisation. Professor Lopes will be one of just twenty members on the Commission, which will be co-chaired by two serving heads of state or government: the Prime Minister of Sweden, Mr Stefan Löfven and the President of Mauritius, Ms Ameenah Gurib-Fakim.

The Commission aims to address critical issues of our time and of the future that are rooted in the world of work, providing an opportunity for new thinking on achieving decent and sustainable opportunities for all. Its findings will be critical in guiding the future work of the International Labour Commission.
