Each GSDPP student was remarkably well-placed to conduct their research. Quinton Mageza, who is Chief Director of the Expanded Public Works Programme in the Eastern Cape Department of Roads and Public Works, analysed the success drivers of his department's Vukuzakhe programme. Percy Makombe, who works at the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa, chose to research reform efforts in the Marange diamond mining in Zimbabwe. Maybin Nsuplia is the CEO of the Zambian Association of Manufacturers, investigated the mining and manufacturing industries in Zambia.
