Building Democratic Resilience and Economic Transformation in Africa

The Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at the University of Cape Town (UCT) recently hosted a multi-day conference titled "Building Democratic Resilience and Economic Transformation in Africa." The first day, organised by cross-hub fellows, highlighted their research, with a particular focus on land reform and agricultural development. The School is one of four research hubs linked to the Global Forum for Democracy Development initiative.
This conference emphasises a commitment to establishing an African hub within a global network dedicated to democracy and development.
The Open Society University Network Forum on Democracy Development comprises several research hubs, including the CEU Democracy Institute in Budapest, Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance at UCT, and the Social Scientists’ Association of Sri Lanka in Colombo.
