Dr Benno Guenther

Dr Benno Guenther holds a PhD and an MSc in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics as well as a Master’s degree in Mathematical Finance from the University of Konstanz, Germany. He is the founder of Blue Guardian, an advisory firm specialising in carbon markets, emissions trading, and behavioural finance. Before this, Benno held senior trading roles at J.P. Morgan and BNP Paribas, including Head of EMEA Power and Gas Structured Products and Options Trading. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics. His research focuses on risk-taking under uncertainty, behavioural finance, and the structuring and valuation of carbon offset projects as well as complex derivatives.
