Unlock global perspectives: Join the 2025 Water Economics and Politics Seminar Series!

We are excited to announce the launch of the Water Economics and Politics Seminar Series, a joint initiative by WPE – Water and Production Economics, research unit at the University of Cape Town and Water Dialogue at the School of Public Policy, University of California, Riverside, United States.
This series features renowned experts in water economics, resource management, and policy from around the world. Drawing from their research, the speakers will provide valuable insights, exploring diverse perspectives and innovative solutions that address critical challenges in sub-Saharan Africa, spanning both technical and policy domains. Each session will conclude with an engaging Q&A, allowing attendees to interact directly with the speakers.
Kicking off the series on May 7th is Professor Manzoor Qadir, Deputy Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), Canada. His talk, Transforming urban wastewater from an environmental burden into an economic asset, sets the tone for a dynamic lineup of engaging discussions. Future speakers include economists Michelle Marcus and Frank A. Ward from the United States, as well as Sarah Wheeler from Australia. Topics will span critical issues such as agriculture, climate change, public health and more.
The seminar series continues through November, featuring one or more sessions each month.
