Welcome back to Commerce! All returning postgraduate students can proceed with registration. Please note that registration closes on 9 February 2023.

  1. There are three registration modes for postgraduate students: Programme Enrolment, Blank Shopping Cart or Pre-populated Shopping Cart. To determine which mode applies to your programme, consult the list: 2023 Commerce Postgraduate Programmes – Registration Methods.
  1. Once you have identified your registration mode, download the relevant Postgraduate Student Registration Activity Guide below. The guide will help you complete the steps when registering online on PeopleSoft.

Postgraduate Student Registration Activity Guides

  1. Log onto PeopleSoft and use the Postgraduate Student Registration Activity Guide for your registration mode to assist you through the process.

Important note: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)/Progress and Planned Activity Report (PPA)

All postgraduate students that must register for a dissertation in the first semester must complete an MOU with their allocated dissertation supervisors before they can complete their registration. The MoU is completed online, on PeopleSoft, as part of the online registration process. Please download the guide: Completing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/Progress and Planned Activity (PPA) on PeopleSoft for Students.

A hold will be placed on your registration until the MOU is approved. You must therefore allow adequate time to work with your supervisor to develop your MoU so that your MoU block can be removed and your registration be completed before the registration cut-off date.

Please remember the UCT Postgraduate Hub contains useful information for postgraduate students, including funding, rules and regulations and a series of videos on the services available to postgraduate students at UCT.

If you have not watched these videos, we encourage you to do so, as they will help you in your postgraduate journey.
