  3. There are three registration modes for postgraduate students: Programme Enrolment (PE), Blank Shopping Cart (BSC) or Pre-populated Shopping Cart (PPSC). To determine which mode applies to your programme and the registration dates, consult the list: 2025 Commerce Postgraduate Programme List – Registration Methods and Dates.
  4. Download the Postgraduate Curriculum List for your degree.

Purpose and Use of the Curriculum List

The Curriculum List is a guiding document to select your courses. It provides information on items to make it easier for you to search for these on the system at Step 12 of the Registration Activity Guide. The Curriculum List denotes the course code, course title, class numbers, and time/day information to enable you to build your curriculum without clashes. Most students do not need to complete the form or have it signed, as you will do it all on the system. The signature spaces have been included for cases where the department or specific programmes require the form to be used (you will be informed if you need to complete the form).

All postgraduate students who are eligible to register for a dissertation must complete the MoU/PPA with their allocated dissertation supervisors before they can complete their registration. The MoU/PPA is completed online, on PeopleSoft, as part of the online registration process. Please download the guide: Completing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/Progress and Planned Activity (PPA) on PeopleSoft for Students.

A hold will be placed on your registration until the MoU/PPA is approved. You must, therefore, allow adequate time to work with your supervisor to develop your MoU/PPA so that your MoU/PPA block can be removed and your registration can be completed before the registration cut-off date.

Please remember the UCT Postgraduate Hub contains useful information for postgraduate students, including funding, rules and regulations and a series of videos on the services available to postgraduate students at UCT. Please take note of the notice from the Office of the Deputy Registrar regarding the responsibilities of UCT students.

If you have not watched these videos, we encourage you to do so, as they will help you in your postgraduate journey.
